How to style a co-ord set
A co-ord set is two pieces in the same fabric and colour, made to be worn together. It can be a shirt and trousers, a blazer and trousers or a top and skirt. The clever part is that you get a finished outfit without thinking about it, and afterwards two pieces you can wear on their own. Here are five ways to style your set.
1. Wear it together
The easiest option is to wear both pieces. Keep the rest simple: a white T-shirt or a fine knit underneath, and shoes in a neutral colour. Then the set does the work. A black set like PCTanne Blazer and PCTanne Pant looks sharp at the office, and a light knitted set like PCOline GRS Knit Top and PCOline GRS Knit Pant is just as easy on a Sunday.
2. Split it up
A set really pays off when you wear the pieces separately. Take the shirt from MSAlva Shirt and MSAlva Mid Waist Pant over a pair of jeans, or wear the trousers with a plain knit. The denim shirt from PCNuisa Puff Sleeve Shirt and PCNuisa Pant works open over a top, and the trousers go with a white shirt. You get more outfits from the same two pieces.
3. Layer it
When it gets colder, add a layer on top. A long cardigan or a coat in a calm colour over the set keeps the look together. With a sweat set like PCRaylene Sweat and PCRaylene Sweat Pant, add a short jacket or a big knit so it is not just for the sofa.
4. From day to evening
The same set works all day if you change the accessories. During the day, sneakers or loafers and a big bag. In the evening, heels, jewellery and a small bag. The lace set MSTara Lace Shirt and MSTara Maxi Lace Skirt is a good example: flat shoes for lunch and heels for dinner.
5. Play with colour
A set in one colour is a calm base you can build on. Pick accessories in the same tone for a clean look, or add one contrast colour in your shoes or bag. Green and blue sets go well with brown and cream, while black can carry almost anything.
